 Fall 2017

The North Haven Indian Football team entered the 2017 season with only 3 returning starters from the previous year.  With a challenging schedule and hopes of returning to the post season, the 18 seniors, led by Captains Mark Montano and Korbin Pecora, had their work cut out for them.  Halfway through the year, the team record stood at 3-2 with the most impressive victory coming at Cheshire week 3 where the Indians rallied to defeat the 4th ranked Rams 17-14.  In order to stay alive in the hunt for the Class L playoffs, the team could not afford another loss.  The Indians were successful at finishing the season at 8-2 with victories over LL powers Xavier and Fairfield Prep and returned to the post season losing to eventual Champion Daniel Hand HS in the quarterfinals.   In reflection, the team was able to grow each week and learn from each experience.   The team developed the chemistry and camaraderie needed to be successful in a team sport like football.   More importantly they learned how to set a meaningful goal and work towards achieving it together.
